Background of PETSD
Promoters of Efficient Technologies for Sustainable Development(PESTD)
is a civil society organization started in 2004 by people having skills
and experience in line of renewable energy technologies, sustainable
agriculture, water, sanitation and hygiene, income, generating
activities, information and documentation, advocacy and lobbying,
research in different technologies. The organization has an aim of promoting development work geared towards improving livelihood of vulnerable people, youths, women, children and communities affected and infected with HIV/AIDS. We recognize that available resources are imperative to our survival and development yet are under threat of increasing degradation and extinction, resulting from poor management and use of technologies that are not appropriate. It is from such background that PETSD was formed.
GOAL
Building capacity of vulnerable people, women, youths, children and communities affected and infected with HIV/AIDS to improve on their livelihood and on their environment through appropriate use of available resources that enable conservation of the environment and betterment of their livelihood

Target groups
PETSD's target groups include stakeholders in the thematic areas of environment, energy, agriculture, health water and sanitation. Categories of stakeholders include Non- Governmental organizations, Community Based Organizations, Institutions and individuals |

1. Enhancing capacity of vulnerable community, youths, women and children to improve on their livelihood and to design and deliver sustainable environment management practices.
2. Educate the communities on the available HIV/ AIDS preventive measures and equip them with knowledge and skills of caring and supporting community members affected and infected with HIV / AIDS.
3. Avail appropriate information and technologies for sustainable health, energy and environment management practices to communities.
4. Facilitate the availability I information of well trained and skilled community members that can participate in activities aimed at improving community livelihood and conserve the environment of the area.
